Vigno

Born in the dry inland area of cauquenes among old, bush-trained vines planted over 65 years ago, whose only water is that which falls as rain. all of these characteristics enable us to be part of “Vigno”, an association of carignan vignerons who are committed to the land, nature and people of the dry lands of the Maule region.

Winemaking:

The grapes were carefully harvested and selected by hand. Then they underwent a cold maceration at 5˚C for 24 hours. The alcoholic fermentation took place with selected yeast in stainless steel tanks at 26˚C. The malolactic fermentation occurred in cask. Fifty percent of the wine was aged in first-, secondand third-use French oak barrels and the other fifty percent in untoasted casks.

Winemaker's Comments:

Ruby colour. The nose is intense with notes of wild fruit and cherries. In the mouth, this is a medium-bodied wine. A sweet note lent by the oak-ageing is nicely balanced by the natural acidity, resulting in a fresh, vibrant wine of smooth tannins. The aftertaste delivers a long finish.

Food Pairings:

This wine pairs well with fatty meat, grilled vegeta bles and typical dishes. Best served at between 16°C and 18°C.
